Safe2Tell Wyoming is a statewide tip line for students and other members of the public to confidentially report information, concerning threats, or potential threats to student safety.


Safe2Tell Wyoming limits requested personal information for you or others to only that which is necessary. Confidential information such as phone number, email address, gender, date of birth and age may be collected. 

 

Safe2Tell Wyoming is a resource portal with links to other websites. These include links to websites operated by other government agencies, nonprofit organizations and private businesses. When you link to another site, you are subject to the privacy policy of that new site.

 

Your Consent and Changes in Privacy Policy


By using Safe2Tell Wyoming, you agree to the practices outlined in this privacy policy. Use of Safe2Tell Wyoming constitutes your acceptance of the privacy policy and terms.  Privacy policy changes are expected from time to time, any changes to this privacy policy will be effective as they are added to the Safe2Tell Wyoming website.

When making a tip through Safe2Tell Wyoming, Wyoming Highway Patrol dispatchers may ask you to voluntarily provide confidential information – defined as information that uniquely identifies you or others by name, phone number or address.  Dispatchers will ask this information to better serve you and better respond to the tip you make. The substance of a tip may be shared as necessary with tip line responders to follow up on your tip. 

 

Safe2Tell Wyoming may release non-confidential, aggregated or summary tip information for reporting purposes. Safe2Tell Wyoming will not sell information to 3rd parties.
 

We may collect and store device-specific information (such as unique device identifiers) in order to facilitate contacting and responding to situations of immediate harm to health, life, and safety.

 

Confidential information may be used by schools and, or law enforcement to quickly handle issues of health, life and safety. We may also use confidential information for internal purposes such as auditing, reporting, data analysis, and research to improve the program.

Statewide Tip Line Established in 2016


The Wyoming School Safety Tip Line became Law through Senate File 97 (SF97). This legislation directed the Attorney General to administer a school safety tip line and call center. SF97 also created protections for the information collected, specifically stating the information related to the operation of the call center will not be considered a public record.
